WALNUT GUNSTOCK MAINTENANCE | CLEANING

CONFIRM YOUR SHOTGUN IS UNLOADED PRIOR TO PROCEED.  GOOD?  CHECK AGAIN.

1. INITIAL DRY CLEAN 

• Use a soft brush (like a paintbrush or toothbrush) to get into checkering or tight spots.
• Wipe down with a microfiber or lint-free cloth to remove dust and dirt.

2. CLEANING

• Dampen a cloth with lukewarm water and a drop of mild dish soap.
• Wring it out thoroughly so it’s just damp—not wet.
• Wipe carefully along the grain.
• Avoid getting moisture into the action or pores of the wood.

Tip: Wrap the cloth around your finger to get into curves or checkered areas.

3. DRY IT IMMEDIATELY

• Use a dry, clean cloth to remove any moisture.
• Let the rifle sit at room temperature for a bit to fully air dry—don’t use heat or direct sunlight.

ALWAYS AVOID

• Never use harsh chemicals or cleaners, undiluted detergents
• Never soak the wood in water or other liquids.
• Never use abrasive sponges or scrubbers for cleaning
